Bard

A magic crafted from the art of performance and the will of battle. The bard exists to be power scaling cannon which attempts to afflict status throughout its words whilst slowly leveling itself or its allies up.

One’s Instrument

As a bard, the art of performance is all you know and with such you have the enchanted ability to cast spells through the power of music. Your instrument is whatever your character wishes to have as their choice of expression. Whilst having an instrument, you may cast every Uncommon form of a Bard Spell once per combat, even if you do not have them known by your character. The only exception is Finale, which you must have on your character to use. If your instrument breaks, it reappears after combat.

You expel a beautiful series of music, very eccentric in its overly punctual forms as it spits through towards a target. Via either your mawl or through an instrument, a burning shot plumes towards an enemy, dealing damage and lighting them on fire.


Common Form: When cast, use a basic action to shoot a burst of flame towards an enemy. The initial blast deals 5 damage and lights the target on fire. Inflamed targets suffer 5 damage at the end of their turn until they put out the fire or someone puts it out for them.


Uncommon Form: When cast, use a basic action to shoot a burst of flame towards an enemy. The initial blast deals 10 damage and lights the target on fire. Inflamed targets suffer 10 damage at the end of their turn until they put out the fire or someone puts it out for them.


Rare Form: When cast, use a basic action to shoot a burst of flame towards an enemy. The initial blast deals 20 damage and lights the target on fire. Inflamed targets suffer 15 damage at the end of their turn until they put out the fire or someone puts it out for them.


Epic Form: When cast, use a basic action to shoot a burst of flame towards an enemy. The initial blast deals 30 damage and lights the target on fire. Inflamed targets suffer 20 damage at the end of their turn until they put out the fire or someone puts it out for them.

Spliced between your words is a magical suggestion, twitching at the mind of the bard in question in order to bring across a drowsy sensation.


Uncommon Form: This spell has a range of 15 blocks and upon being cast on an enemy can send them into a light nap. The range of this nap depends on the roll and DM discretion, but often doesn’t last long.


Rare Form: This spell has a range of 20 blocks and upon being cast on an enemy can send them into a deep sleep. The range of this sleep depends on the roll and DM discretion, but often lasts for a normal amount.


Epic Form: This spell has a range of 20 blocks and upon being cast on an enemy can send them into a heavy coma. The range of this coma depends on the roll and DM discretion, though it usually lasts for a very long time, and the target cannot be awoken via mundane means. Can only be cast once per combat.

Within the arts, the bard lays the call to uplift the ones who they lay in battle with. Sing a blissful tune which invigorates your allies to constantly land their shots.


Uncommon Form: After being cast for this round and the next round you and one ally  can no longer miss your attacks, except on a one. This buff is not applied to interrupts.


Rare Form: After being cast for this round and the next round your allies can no longer miss their attacks, except on a one. This buff is applied to interrupts.


Epic Form: After being cast for the next 3 rounds your allies can no longer miss their attacks, except on a one. This buff is applied to interrupts. The first natural 1 each party member rolls is immediately transferred into a natural 20.

Idly implant a magical tongue into your words, making a form of double speech which has the ability to make people follow your will.


Uncommon Form: Upon being cast on an enemy, they are thrown into a charmed state. Every round the enemy will roll to try and break out. For regular enemies the DC is 10, for irregular enemies the DC is up to DM discretion. Can only be cast once per combat, and has a range of 5 blocks.


Rare Form: Upon being cast on an enemy, they are thrown into a charmed state. Every round the enemy will roll to try and break out. For regular enemies the DC is 13, for irregular enemies the DC is up to DM discretion. Can only be cast once per combat, and has a range of 15 blocks.


Epic Form: Upon being cast on an enemy, they are thrown into a charmed state. Every round the enemy will roll to try and break out. For regular enemies the DC is 18, for irregular enemies the DC is up to DM discretion. Can be cast twice per combat, and has a range of 30 blocks.

Within the notes of music, some such combinations of different strums allow for the user to incite an aggressive power in that of a determined listener.


Uncommon Form: Let out a powerful series of notes along your instrument of choice, fueling either yourself or an ally with double damage for 2 turns, starting from the turn its cast. This spell has a range of 20 blocks.


Rare Form: Let out a powerful series of notes along your instrument of choice, fueling either yourself or an ally with double damage for 3 turns, starting from the turn its cast. This spell has a range of 20 blocks.


Epic Form: Let out a powerful series of notes along your instrument of choice, fueling either yourself or an ally with triple damage for 3 turns, starting from the turn its cast. This spell has a range of 30 blocks.

Take a deep breath and erupt the lowest note on your instrument, sending an insane tremor across the battlefield.


Uncommon Form: All enemies within 5 blocks of the Bard take 10 damage and have their movement halved for 2 rounds. Takes 2 turns to recharge after being cast.


Rare Form: All enemies within 10 blocks of the Bard take 10 damage and have their movement halved for 3 rounds. Takes 2 turns to recharge after being cast.


Epic Form: All enemies within 20 blocks of the Bard take 20 damage and have their movement halved for 5 rounds. Takes 1 turn to recharge after being cast.

Begin to slowly arpeggiate across your instrument, raising the energy higher and higher with each scale that you go up.


Uncommon Form: Upon being cast, an arcane wisp flings towards an enemy, dealing 10 damage. After each successful cast, the power of Crescendo goes up by 5 damage. This resets after every combat.


Rare Form: Upon being cast, an arcane wisp flings towards an enemy dealing 15 damage. After each successful cast, the power of Crescendo goes up by 5 damage, and the power of Finale goes up by 10. This resets after every combat.


Epic Form: Upon being cast, an arcane wisp flings towards an enemy dealing 20 damage. After each successful cast, the power of Crescendo goes up by 5 damage, and the power of Finale goes up by 15. This resets after every combat.

The art of music flows through your veins, and depending upon the variance of your performance the beats within one's soul have a stronger potential to erupt.


Rare Form: For every unique bard spell you cast in this combat, the power of Finale increases by 30 damage (this does not count Finale itself). The total damage can then be split into an arcane crack of energy, able to be split onto any target within 15 blocks of the Bard. This can only be done once per combat, afterwards you cannot cast any bard spells.


Epic Form: For every unique bard spell you cast in this combat, the power of Finale increases by 50 damage (this does not count Finale itself). The total damage can then be split into an arcane crack of energy, able to be split onto any target within 15 blocks of the Bard. This can only be done once per combat, afterwards you cannot cast any bard spells.
